It is strongly recommended that your flywheel be resurfaced when changing your clutch! It is absolutely CRUCIAL to do so if you will be using a kevlar clutch. To work with kevlar, your flywheel must have a smooth, stone ground finish. IF YOUR NEW FLYWHEEL HAS A LATHE CUT FINISH, IT WILL NEED TO BE RESURFACED FOR KEVLAR!!!!
